Peer support is available 24 Hours a day, 7 days a week, to receive your call:

These calls are confidential and anonymous. The Peer Support Group will receive your calls in your time of need or if you just need a shoulder to lean on, we are here to listen. All of our members of the Peer Support Program are here on volunteer basis, all are Columbus Firefighters willing to help you. The volunteers making up the Peer Support Group are:

Lisa Callander, LISW-S, LICDC, MSW, EAP Director. Lisa has been with the City EAP for over 25 years, and holds degrees from Ohio University and the Ohio State University as well as licenses as an independent social worker and independent chemical dependency counselor. Prior to working with the City EAP, Lisa worked in inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency programs, mental health programs and private practice. Lisa has specialized training and experience in critical incident stress management practices and serves on both the Columbus Division of Fire CISM team, and the Columbus Division of Police Peer Assistance Team. Lisa considers it a privilege to serve city employees and promote iniatives that help the city employees be at their best.

Dr. John (Jack) Malinky, PHD Clinical Psychology

Dr. Malinky has practiced psychology for 31 years. He was a staff psychologist at Columbus Area Community Mental Health Center, United Behavioral Health and Harding Hospital providing him a knowledge base in both private and insurance base settings. Dr. Malinky is currently in private practice. He has experience and enjoys working with Firefighters.
